It all started at 613am. When I started on the freeway from my house to the Sizzix Warehouse sale in lake Forest, a mere 75 miles from my house. Things were going fine, the usual morning traffic. And then my mapquest directions said to go on the 91. NOT the 91?!?!? Ahhh! SO I figured I'd bypass it after I sat there waiting to get on the connector for 15 minutes and move like 4 inches. I zigged and zagged all over Corona trying to find a "better" way. Meanwhile, I was burning up precious minutes before the sale!
I finally get on the 91 at a point where it starts moving and then my directions say to take the 241, a toll road. I end up paying $4.75 total but it was well worth it to fly my way down the road! First time I have ever been on a California toll road. (Been on them in Oklahoma and New Jersey)
I find the Ellison building no problem, a kind man directed me to park in the back. And then I see the line--not as bad as I expected. Only about 50-60 people in front of me. I see Judy from SGT and before we can get a good conversation going, the doors open and mayhem ensues! I make my way to the back of the warehouse. I got some great deals on used dies.
I got through the line no problem--it was great!! 1 Big Shot, 65 dies, and $190 later, I get a call from PJ--she's on her way with all the kids in tow. I see all kinds of great friendly faces--I should go to theses sales more often--it was like social hour! Saw Jessica G. of Kits2Remember/Zutter Zister fame, awesome scrapper Joanne--she is a diehard, super scrapper!! Saw an SGT customer who reads my blog (*hi*!!) and lots of other super awesome people.
It was also fun to see the ladies who had binders with samples of all their dies in them--I aspire to be like that one day!! So PJ gets there, I stand in line again (a very long one this time!) and get MORE stuff so now my total is $221. Still under budget--and an early bday present for me!!!
We leave and just as we are leaving, Cindy from SGT sees us! How fun!
PJ told me about this great kids' store called Crazy 8 and she showed me how to get there. Got Matt some super cute stuff. But while I was shopping, I get this phone call. I can't say which DT it is just yet but I WILL say that I made it onto the Creative Team at a great great company!!! Then on the way out of the mall, we see none other than Jo from The Real Housewives of Orange County in a suit going to lunch! Crazy?!?
I head on up to SGT to pick up some paper and then over to the Scrapping Lounge--and then one of my favorite customers walks in the door!! How cool is that?!
After a few other stores, rounding up more supplies for our class December 2, I pick up Xaver. I think I talked his ear off the whole way home. Wow--what a fabulous scrap happy day!
