New is Good

With CHA going on right now, everyone is thinking, "new, new, new!" And there are alot of great things going on to be excited about. I got the "new" bug and have a couple of new things to share:

EmBellieGramS:
The first is a new program I am starting called "EmbellieGrams". A fellow instructor, the fabulous Haven King, shared with me her monthly club and I knew I HAD to do one for my favorite "students"! Every month you will receive an embellishment based project from me, for FREE. The project will usually coordinate with one or more of my classes during that month.

All you have to do is sign up on my mailing list (snail mail) at the next class kickoff or my next class or you can email your snail mail address to me. It's free, it's fun, and it's free! Did I mention it is FREE?!

The Week's Fun Little Somethin':
Every week for the past month I have been putting a fun link here on my blog (see upper left corner of page, above my photo). I run across these "fun little somethin's" while surfing the web, or people email them to me, or the links are shared on forums and message boards to which I belong. It's not enough to blog about but something great enough that you might be interested. If you miss one week, don't worry--the past week's "somethin's" are listed at the bottom left side of my blog. Enjoy!

It's here!

As promised, I am offering an alternate themed book in my Girl Scout 6x6 book class! We'll be learning how to make this fabulous handmade, magnetic closure book on July 26th from 630pm-9pm at Scrappin' Good Times in San Dimas, CA.

The sample for the alternate book for my Girl Scout 6x6 book class is on display at Scrappin' Good Times. Here is a pic of the cover:

We'll be using American Crafts' gorgeous new rub-ons, various stamps, and the Accu-cut diecutting machine to personalize this book to the theme of your choice. I chose to use "Family" on the sample but you can choose any theme you'd like from pets to travel to holidays! And if you're making the Girl Scout book, we'll be using these same elements to customize your book as well.

The color scheme is mostly red and brown tones with some hints of blue and cream. I used some very fun papers from Daisy D's, Crate Paper, Wild Asparagus, Making Memories, and Cosmo Cricket. The base of the album and the layout are the same as the Girl Scout themed book; I just changed the colors. The book looks completely different just by changing a couple of colors; this just goes to show you how versatile this book pattern and design are!

Here is a little snippet of part of an interior page:

The ribbons on the binding of the book are included for BOTH books. The class is July 26th so make sure you sign up soon! I will call you before the class and ask which book you would like to make, the Girl Scout book or the alternate book. I hope to see you in class. You won't want to miss this one of a kind book!
