...so my inbox says tonight when I got home. Luckily, not all of those need to be opened--they are the ones I copy to myself to make sure things got sent and to remember what I said--big load off my shoulders! LOL
Really, I know it may sound like I am stressed out on my blog but I am having the time of my life! This year has been so great already--busy busy, but great. I am teaching classes, which I totally love, making my own schedule, promoting Scrapbook Royalty (a group I love and believe in) and making new friends all over the place. Plus I get to see my "students" who have become friends over the years when I teach my classes. What can be better?
So here is what has happened today:
Elena invited me to the Stampin' Up! Regional Convention at the Anaheim Convention Center. Now I just stopped being a CTMH consultant so maybe she had some ulterior motive, right? No, I decided to go to the Regional event when I was still a CTMH consultant (shhhh....). Anyways, we had a total blast! We got to meet the owner of Stampin' Up! And chat with her about Scrapbook Royalty--she was so genuine and interested--it makes sense that she is the CEO of a majorly successful corporation!
We made some fun make n takes and got a free stamp set and left with tons of ideas . I totally have sketches all over the agenda we were given--now I've got to see if those make sense still! LOL
We got out of there at 3pm--bad bad timing...I was in major traffic trying to head north on the 57 to get home. But before we left we tried to get a sneak peek at CHA--today was the first day the manufacturers could start setting up and they were downstairs from the SU event. All we saw was a stern security lady and lots of pallets and boxes...darn. We have to wait until next week!!
Scrapbook Blvd and Pages of Tyme both donated so many items to the fire victims for the Rebuilding Memories (tomorrow) that Elena and I had to use this trip to make a THIRD exchanged of goods from me to her. We loaded her little Miata until she could not see out of it anymore. Seriously, I will have to make another trip to take the last little bit of stuff to the event. It is so cool that they donated so much!! Transporting it is a little difficult when we both have small cars tho! LOL The items have been stored in my front room for the past few weeks so they would be safe from the elements--it looked like I was trying to open a store!!! Now those goods will be going to awesome homes, helping the people who lost everything in the wildfires to rebuild their memories.
So back to today... since my drive was so gnarly, I stopped at the Scrappin' Table on the way and picked up some goodies--everything in there is NEW so it isn't hard to find something else to buy! I was going to try to stay for the crop but they were SOLD OUT! Congrats to them for being brand new and selling out a crop but now I had to find a new place to wait out the traffic. Totally love the girls there--they are so nice! So I got back on the freeway and sucked it up...start going up the 57 freeway and realized that it was class kickoff time at Scrappin' Good Times.
I've been wanting to see Cindy's Winnie the Pooh book and PJ's cute baby tins so I went on over to check them out. It was great to see some of my past customers, catch up with some of the DT members, catch up on what my friends are up to and so on since I am not over that way much any more.
From there I went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then trudged up the hill to go home. Spent a few hours with a friend on the phone--always nice to chat and such. All while I was putting the finishing touches on my class kits for tomorrow's class...
Someone told me they thought I sounded stressed out my blog and really, its not that bad. Yes, there is alot more volume as far the work I am doing. And January was unreal as far as the places I went--I don't know how I did it. But all in all, things are going really well. I am happy, I have my creativity back, I'm making my own schedule, I'm still doing my volunteer stuff with Scrapbook Royalty, I'm having a blast on the Crop Addict Creative Team, I love working with all the new stores I am teaching at....I could not have imagined that I would be branching out this quickly and to this many places but I am so glad that it is happening. Doors are opening, I'm getting the word out about Scrapbook Royalty, I'm meeting the most awesome people...things are pretty dandy over here!! I go to bed every night very tired but content and happy. So before I hit the hay...
Now, for those pics of Quickutz dies cutting felt that I promised...
In playing around with the dies I found that you don't have to remove the foam if you use the cookies cutter dies. And when I ran the same piece through 2-3 times the cuts were really nice and crisp. I just left the felt in the machine and ran it 2/3 of the way through one way, then backed it back to 2/3 the other way, and then ran it through all the way and removed the plate and the shape. This seemed to hold everything in place as well.
Here I took the foam off one of the letters from the Spotlight Cookie Cutter Alphabet. I left it inside those little cut out parts. It cut the felt perfectly!!

Here are some things I cut to use on my add-on kit for tomorrow's class at the Scrapping Lounge "8-3-1 Means I Love You":

Some day I'll try it on 2x2 and 4x4 dies but I am kind of tired tonight. Tomorrow I'll be teaching this class and then I'll be making an appearance at the Scrapbook Boulevard
Rebuilding Memories Affiliate crop with Scrapbook Royalty. Sunday I am taking the Girl Scouts to the Hannah Montana concert movie at the IMAX theatre and then we're going to a mega Superbowl party!!Hopefully I'll post again Monday--happy weekend!!
