Fiska-deals!!! Woohoo!!

Nan posted this info from the Fiskateers forum over on our Yahoo Group, Who Gives A Scrap?, so I thought I would share. None of the deals are showing up yet but it is still early in the day--Cheryl describes today's item as a Heidi Grace kit--hope it goes up before I have to leave to teach my class!!

I hope to get some awesome deals and I hope you do too!! Thanks Nan for sharing!

Remember our big warehouse sale last year? So many of you wished you could get the great deals, but you just lived too far away. Well, for National Craft Month, we are cleaning out the warehouse again! And this time, because so many of you have been asking for it, we are offering those super low prices on old and extra inventory online!
These Fiska-Deals are so hot, that we can only offer them for 24 hours each. Here’s how it works. Every day of National Craft Month (March) we will put a different seriously deep discount special on online—www.fiskadeal s.com. It is only there until midnight or until we run out—whichever comes first. You’ll want to check every single day. Honestly, I can’t believe these prices.
The rest of the world will not know about this until midnight, but Fiskateers can get the inside scoop now. Tomorrow’s item (which will go live very soon) is this GIGANTIC Heidi Grace scrapbook kit (held by our friend, Nikki) for just $8.43.
I can’t reveal what the rest of the items are, but you will find tools, storage, paper kits, kids’ items, and more.
And in the interest of complete transparency, I wanted to mention about two things:
1) Because the Fiskateer Movement is not about selling products, but about spreading goodwill and the love of crafting, all we wanted to do is let you know about Fiska-deals first and exclusively. We are not trying to get you to buy anything. How and if you choose to tell others is totally up to you, but feel free to spread the word to your friends if you want to.
2) The products in the Fiska-Deals sale are old or discontinued items. So we will in no way be competing with any of the independent stores or other retailers that we partner with.

I'll leave ya with some pics of today's class--I had a TON of fun coming up with this one and the add-ons are pretty cute too--tried out some new stuff, lots of stickles, and tons and tons of QK diecuts!!

I got one!!

I pre-ordered my 12" platform for the QK Revolution yesterday!!! I got it from the Scrapping Lounge so I got a free 12" heart die. I also got the die for cutting grass borders cuz I am doing a wild animal class with the new paper from Reminisce as soon as it arrives.

Today we are going house shopping. Hopefully we can make it out to get some breakfast before that but the family is STILL getting ready so it might be McDonald's instead of a sit-down. Then I;ll be prepping my "Our Little Cuddlebug" and "Our Little Critter" kits--there is still room in that class this Saturday if you haven't signed up! I making extras of each kit so even if you sign up the day of, I will have enough for you to choose girl, boy, or both!

Then I am off to pick up more cookies for our troop. The girls are selling TONS of cookies so I already have to go get more.We went last night but could only fit 17 cases in my car because all of us were in it and I had stuff in my trunk already. I think I am going to get another 50 cases--that should be enough for our booth. I do want our troop to outsell what we did last year (4000+ boxes) but I am really concerned with getting Katie to the 1000 boxes sold mark. Then she can go to camp!! Plus she'll earn enough "cookie dough" (a gift card the girls earn towards purchases from Girl Scouts) to pay for a second summer camp trip. She has already sold 420 boxes and I need more to fill some other orders we got yesterday. Woohoo!!

Sounds like the shower just shut off so I'd better go and get my shoes on....

New Scrap Room!!

Well that is on the agenda!! We are house hunting and it looks really really promising that I will have a bonafide scraproom! I kind of already do have a scrap room--it is supposed to be Matt's room but it is more like 20% Matt and 80% scrap. Poor guy. I realize that boys are different from girls and he really does need his own little place to play. And though he really does love playing in my scrap room, it just isn't safe....for my stuff that is! LOL He can shred a good piece of 12x12 in 1.4 seconds flat. And I can't find large tools like my ruler--I think he ate it.

At any rate I am really dreading moving all this scrap (since I am pretty sure it makes up half the stuff we own) but I am really excited about having more space, everyone having their own room, and us finally owning the house ourselves. It will be nice to paint some walls for once in my adult life.

Thanks everyone for the supportive comments about girl scouts drama. It has been really cool over the last two years to see the girls change, gain confidence, and to become young ladies.

Reminders

Lately things in life seem to be coming at me like torpedoes!! Okay really it is just in regard to Girl Scouts. Not only is it cookie time but something has gotten into a couple of parents and they just lost it--tonight one went off on me in front of some of the other parents, in another person's house. Not only is that rude but her whole approach was rude and I totally do this for free--I am not paid, she never lifted a finger to help out at any meetings, and then she has the gall to complain--hello?? The other parents were equally, if not more, appalled at her behavior. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

What is it about people who always want something for free, want someone else to put out all the effort, and then they want to COMPLAIN about it?!? It is just our society I think. No wonder no one wants to be a girl scout leader anymore. It is alot of work but then on top of that you have to deal with all of these parents, the Council people, and then there are mountains of rules and procedures....it is just alot to do for free. Thank goodness there are some of us that are willing to take a shot at it because otherwise there would be no girl scout troops at all! I seriously considering quitting at least once a week and there were several times during the year that I have drawn up resignation letters. I split the work up among my parents--that way it isn't all on me. But then it isn't all on them either--we all take on different responsibilities to help carry the load. At least most of us do...

I do have more than my fair share of awesome parents though--they are willing to help, take on tasks, can follow through, and they regularly express how much they appreciate me taking on the role of leader. It is alot of work for sure. And unpaid--oh yeah,I already said that. I feel like I am not saying it enough lately though...

Anyways, it is easy to get caught up in all that hub-bub and YUCK of it all and forget how to put things into perspective. Today in two conversatoins with different friends I was reminded that I have it pretty darn well good. And there are bigger issues in the world than some snotty parent. There are alot of positives in my troop. And though it pains me to see a parent lose it and take the girl out of the troop, I really can't worry about that--I need to focus on the stuff I can affect and that is my family. And seeing those parents lose it is having an impact on me--I am one of those tigers, who when something is not right in the world (according to me) I go after it full force. Seeing these parents do that I am realizing that doing that is just plain annoying. And all is does is hurt them, not the person they are attacking. I am surprised I did not tell that mom off tonight--I wanted to. But what good would that do? Now she just made herself look bad, I didn't get super angry or anything, and I am rid of another parent who wants me to invest more time into their kid than they are willing to. Seems to have worked out pretty well.

So anyways, the point of this long long rambling is that I am being reminded over and over that though things suck really bad at times, it could be worse and it really isn't all that bad. And I am turning into a postal worker cuz I am getting to the point where I just don't care all that much if someone is mad or not...

I got some scrapping done so maybe that was just enough therapy for me to make it through this week--and it is only Monday! LOL

Here are some pages I did last night while watching some movie I don't know the name of...

I finally used some of that cool Jenni Bowlin diecut papers and her patterned paper. Also, the brads are the ones I won in the Legacy Scrapbooking Bo Bunny Contest this month--I got First Place!!

This page is hilarious--Matt really did tear us a whole box of tissue while sitting on my bed. And he really did smile about it! He is a crack up. I used more KI Lace paper on this one--love that stuff!! The "Cheeky" sticker is from MM and I won it in their booth at CHA.

And another page of Matt. I did some pages of Katie, just haven't scanned them yet. On this one I used up some Old Pebbles Inc paper, the last of those doodlebug flowers, and some more Lil Davis $1 bin stuff. Just trying to make a dent in my stash....

Now off to bed..gotta sleep!! Hope you have a great Monday!
