Going to the Royal Slumber Crop? I'll See You There!

In a couple of hours I'll be heading out to help set up for the Royal Slumber Crop down in San Marcos, CA!!! And then I'll be cropping for 2 days straight!

This will be my 4th year attending Scrapbook Royalty's big annual fundraiser--wow, I can't even believe it has been that long. SBR has grown and grown, and just become more and more of a daily part of my life. Sometimes it is overwhelming working for "free", as all SBR volunteers do, but then I step back and look at the accomplishments of the charity and all the volunteers and I remember how I feel honored to be a part of such a great organization. And I have made some awesome friends along the way too! And attended some really awesome events (and planned them) too! AND we have raised almost $150,000 for various charities over the years! After this weekend I am sure it will be over $150,000!!!

So I am almost all packed for the event but I just wanted to share some goodies I made for my WhoGAS pals. Last year I made these cute little WhoGAS pins for everyone who went to our Fantasyland Crop For Kids and this year, I did it again! Only this time, the pin is attached to a mystery goodie box!

I've also got surprises for a couple of special people, Donna and Cheryl (i won't share last names so you'll have to be guessing if it is you or not --hehe). AND I will be sponsoring tea time with Girl Scout cookies!! And finally, I am doing Fairy Fly Bys to help promote my classes and etsy shop. Katie and Xaver packed them all for me last night--wow! 150 FFBs ain't no joke! Katie is coming with me--this will be an adventure for sure!

YOU CAN STILL DONATE!

I will get the email on my Blackberry letting me know you donated via Paypal so I can cut a check right then to give to SBR. My friend Maria Getz is still trying to reach her goal of $500 indonations--we can help her EXCEED that!! Just click the button below and Paypal will walk you through the process.

I am doing an additional offer!

Donate $25 (or more) by Saturday at Noon and you will be entered into a drawing to win the new Quickutz CHANDELIER alphabet!! It is a $40 value and brand new, just released!! And you can have it for free!! I will know who donated because I will have your email addy via Paypal. Winner to be announced Monday. Here's what the alpha looks like:

So until Monday, Happy Crafting!
I will be home Sunday just need a little bit to recover ;)

Help A Cancer Survivor

My good friend Maria Getz is a Cancer Survivor. She recently shared her story with a group of us at a little get together she had at her house.

She is attending the Royal Slumber Crop in three days in San Marcos, CA. The crop is benefiting the Cancer Coping Center. Please read Maria's letter below:

Dear Friends:

As of August 06, I have been cancer free. It feels like a lifetime ago and it also feels like it was just yesterday.

I was blessed with wonderful support from my family and friends (some very special friends: Rose and Pamm). And most important I had my faith and the prayers from so many, even people I did not know.

I need your help. I am participating in a Scrapbook Royalty charity event to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Coping Center. Scrapbook Royalty is a 100% volunteer run non-profit organization that hosts events to raise money and awareness.

The Cancer Coping Center constitutes a group of professionals who volunteer their time and expertise in order to relieve the suffering of those afflicted with cancer. Their missions is to enhance and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, family members and care givers through creativity.

My goal is to raise $500 in donations. Not everyone is blessed with a support systen and it is important to keep places like the Cancer Coping Center available to those who need it.

Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Please make your check out to Scrapbook Royalty or donate via the Paypal button below (Jennifer is collecting donations online on my behalf).

I will send everyone that donates a special hand mdae card. And for those that can donate $25 I will make a special stationary gift set!!

Remember, every bit helps! Oh yea, the participant who raises the most money will be crowned Queen of Philanthropy and I need a new tiara!!!

Love,

Maria Getz

So if you would like to donate and help Maria, please click on the donate button below or contact Maria via her Stampin' Up! website.

Here are sneak peeks of the stationary box set you can get for donating $25!!

Thank you!!

Bind-It-All Basics and Bonus!

My Bind It All Basics classes have been a HUGE success! WOW!! Thanks so much to everyone who came to the classes thus far-I hope you all left feeling empowered and ready to bind some books!

Earlier this month I taught the class at The Scrappin' Table in Placentia, CA. We also made the BONUS project, a fun little mini book featuring Zutter's Cover-Alls. Each student customized their Cover-All and book in the class. We had themes from all over the calendar -- mom, Halloween, girl...a little bit of everything. Here's the sample--mine pales in comparison to what these Bind It All experts were creating in the class!

Some photos from the day:

Thanks Anne for taking pics for me!

A Place For Coats - Under $5!

At Christmas Michael's had mini metal frames with hooks attached. They were in the clearance section for $1 each!

I picked up 4 frames and then painted them black with acrylic paint. Then I took some scraps of paper (Stampin' Up! paper I got from Maria Getz) and put that inside the frame with a diecut letter. I made one for each member of the family. Then I tied a bit of ribbon in a bow at the top of each hook and Xaver hung them in the hallway for me. This whole project cost less than $5!!

Supplies:
Frames - Michael's
Paper, Ribbon - Stampin' Up!
Diecuts- Quickutz

Today Is All Bout Blogs!

I've got three bloggy things to share today:

Teresa Collins featured my jewelry hanger on her blog on Saturday!! How cool is that?!!?!? Woohoo!

I just posted a giveaway on the Desert Scrappers blog from Scrapbook Royalty--go check it all out here. I am choosing 5 winners tomorrow night.

And finally, speaking of giveaways, go check out Craft Critique's blog. If you don't know what that is, you should! Ever wanted to know if a product was any good? Is that new tool worth the money? Well, Craft Critique puts the products you want to know about to the test. Then they post a tell-all on their blog with the good, the bad, and the ugly. They also share projects made with the product.

Back to Scrappy Land for me...Happy Creating!

Hopefully I'll pics of some good stuff to post tomorrow!

It's A Wonderful Wonderful Banner!

I finally finished the Wizard of OZ banner I have been working on. It's been hanging on my wall for two days, trying to make sure nothing falls off and everything is dry. It has been humid up here since the middle of the week when it rained so my adhesive and Glimmer Mist are taking a bit to dry. I am really pleased with how it turned out! I sure hope Julie likes it!!

It's going to be my last custom order for a while since I got so behind from being sick, I have way too much to catch up on. Julie was so patient, waiting over 2 months for me to finish. It takes me about 8 to 15 hours straight to make a banner and then I have to have no other projects in my scrap room because they literally take up one table for it to sit on and one table for me to cut paper and make all the goodies that go on it. With all my classes right now and recovering from being sick I just can't do it-- and no way can I let someone wait that long again!! So until I have the time to dedicate, that is it for now! Here are some snippets of the banner--enjoy!

P.S. I am still totally covered in gold glitter!! And that's 144 swarovski crstals on those shoes -- hand glued! 14 hand sewn crepep paper rosettes, misted, and then dipped in glitter. Plus I made all the dangling beads by hand as well. Xaver punched most of the arpon lace borders for me. He always helps me out! Now off to work a GS cookie booth with Miss Katie.

Happy Creating!!!
