Things I've Learned from My Friends...

Just blog hopping and chatting on the phone this AM started me thinking about things I have learned from my wonderful, awesome friends. Sure, I had friends before scrapbooking but now that I am really a part of this crazy crafting community, I really feel like I have boatloads of friends! LOL I've always had one or two "friends" at a time and just a lot of acquaintances. Not any more! Getting older is good. Here are some of the things (not all) I have learned from some of my friends over the years:

Holly H - Remember to take time for yourself so you can give your best to family and friends the rest of the time.
Cindy -- Take it easy and don't get too wound up over stuff (I leanred but rarely do it - hehe).
Trisha -- Give everyone a chance and even second and third chances. Lord knows she has given me plenty.
Elena-- Make it pretty and they will come--hehe. She sure knows how to throw a party and make people feel like they are a part of things.
Gloria - You can accomplish your dreams.
Cheryl M. - Stay calm under pressure.
PJ - You can never have too much paper or ribbon! LOL Laugh every day.
Laura - Saying thank you is important.
Nan - Make every moment in your life fun.
Stephanie - Remember God comes first.
Tiffany - Give people the benefit of the doubt.
Cheryl W - Speak softly and carry big scissors.
April - Wait a while and things will calm down
Maria - There is alot to be said for the power of relationships!
Tammy - Take time to spend with the kids - very important
Gina R - It's never too late to follow your dreams.
Geenah - You can be happy whatever your situation--just make a choice to be
Anne- Patience is key to dealing with any problem (or person)
Sherry - You can have a family AND be a world traveler!

If you weren't mentioned it doesn't mean anything except that I am in a hurry and trying to type really fast. I probabyl learned so much from you I can't articulate it in one sentence (and someof you above I learned alot from but just talked about one thing). You know, that whole getting old thing, my memory is going! LOL

I totally feel a layout coming on, however, I am supposed to prepping for my class that is in 5 hours --yikes! So until tomorrow...happy crafting!

Virtual Fairy Fly By and More!

I have been hard at work in my scrap room today--rearranging, creating new class samples, and just playing with all the new goodies I got from the Royal Slumber Crop. I slept as much as I could with the family around--Matthew thinks I am a human jungle gym at 6am every day! Ahh! I am slowly recovering from the Slumber Crop -- you'd think that "slumber" part meant sleeping but it really meant "partying"! LOL I finally rolled off the couch at about 2pm. Hopefully tomorrow is more of the same--lots of rest with little bits of creating in-between. Here is some of what I was working on today:

I think a class is coming on...

And here is another class I am working on (above)...

Rearranging my scrap room yet again...I think I organize more than I scrap. There should be a pill for that.

Got another thing for stamps, moved some stuff OFF this table (above) and my bulletin board fell off so that is why that is on there. Do we ever stop organizing? LOL This place is a flippin' mess!

Xaver put up a new ribbon rod for me and I moved all my loose ribbon to that bigger, more sturdy rod.

Another yummy ribbon pic. One can never have enough ribbon!! And it is fat free too!

Here is where the ribbon used to be (on the second rod down). I added more spools to that rod since I just went on a major ribbon run last week. Xaver said he will put my bulletin boards back up here, under the ribbon, tomorrow. Yippee!

I realized the loose ribbon hanging would be tickling my arm when I was scrapping so I moved my tables around. Not sure I like it just yet--there is alot of space in the middle of the room and my back is to the door but I can get to my Silhouette and other tables (not pictured but on the left) so much easier...we shall see. It is growing on me.

I love these new fabric bins I got from Target earlier this month. So cute! The fact that they are filled with stuff that needs to be put away and organized - not so attractive. I'll deal with that in all my "spare time", right?

A few weeks ago I put all my Prima flowers in these jars, with a ribbon tied on the top as a sort of "key". I just ran across some pics of Katie and my nephew sorting the flowers for me by color after Thanksgiving dinner. Matthew broke the "pink" jar so those flowers are floating around in a bin until I get some new jars. Boys...

Important News:

I am nearing some serious landmarks here at my little blog:
  • 500th post happened last week
  • I am almost at 40,000 page hits!!
  • AND my Blogoversary is coming up soon
How about warming up for that marathon of prizes, tutorials, and fun fun fun with a little giveaway TODAY?

For some reason I came home with a lot of Fairy Fly Bys leftover from the Royal Slumber Crop. We made 150 but either I can't count or we missed some people. Who knows!?!? All we need to care about is that it is good news for you!! I am giving away those Fairy Fly Bys to anyone who posts a comment here, first come first served. I have like 20 of them so need to worry about getting one as I am sure I will have enough.

Also, I still have that Quickutz Chandelier Alphabet Die up for grabs!! I did not collect any donations on Maria's behalf :( but Pat from the same group earned the title (and crown) for Queen of Philanthropy after just signing up for the event three weeks before. What an awesome accomplishment--this group of ladies is just amazing, inspiring, talented...I am so lucky to call them my friends!

Soooo....
How can you get that alphabet?

Donate $25 to Scrapbook Royalty. We always need donations to help our organization run since we are all strictly volunteers. Every little bit helps!

The first person to donate will receive the Chandelier Alphabet (or a kit from my stash if you don't have Quickutz).

The second person to donate will receive a 4x4 die (or an XL banner starter kit if you don't have Quickutz).

The third person to donate will receive one of my new XL Banner Starter Kits in the color of their choice.

The fourth person to donate will receive one of my new Banner Starter Kits in the color of their choice.

The fifth person to donate will receive a ribbon and embellie pack from me.

If I get more than six donations I will post more prizes!!!

HOW CAN YOU DONATE?
Either use the buttons I posted in the last week (see posts on Wed and Fri) OR you can send the money to Scrapbook Royalty directly through Paypal at payment@scrapbookroyalty.com. If you send it direct, please forward the email saying you sent a payment to me so I can get your address to send the prize. Thanks for playing and happy creating!!
