Hey Jennifer. I wanted to let you know that I stole your ribbon storage idea. It isn't as full as yours, or out to see, but it looks so nice in my closet on the wall all organized. Thanks.
I wish I had a big room like yours though.
Thanks for the tips on the banner. I am thinking flowers too. I think I might spray glimmer mist all over it. I only have a few colors, so I think Silver Bells and maybe pearl will have to do.
I am thinking some rhinestones too. :)
Have a good day. See you sometime... since I don't work that often anymore.
OH I wanted to tell you also that I LOVE your Wizard of Oz banner. It turned out great. That is what actually gave me the concept idea for the name banner. Thanks girl you are always a ton of inspiration.

Build A Banner Workshop

For the last couple of years I have been creating custom banners for people and organizations across the country. I continually am asked to share the techniques and secrets as well as to create banners for every occasion. Now you can learn how to do it yourself!

BUILD A BANNER Workshop
March 29, 2009
1-4pm
Collective Journey
909-793-2200
Fee: $35

Jennifer Priest will lead you through creating a custom banner of your very own using paper you bring to the class. She receives requests to create her popular custom banners from across the nation. You’ll have access to an extensive embellishment bar full of glimmer mist, flowers, ribbon, crepe paper, glitter, and more to create your own banner. We’ll also use the Quickutz Silhouette SD to cut a custom saying or name of up to 8 letters to adorn your banner. Don’t know what paper to bring? Jennifer will guide you through selecting paper during the class.

Supplies: Craft Glue Dots, Craft Knife and Mat, strong liquid adhesive, and 3 to 5 different patterned papers.

Here are some examples of custom banners I have created in the past:

I will have a bar set up in the class with crepe paper, ribbons, beaded garlands, stick pins, and more for you to create your own custom work of art! Sign up quickly--the class is only in 5 days!!

So Tweet!

I love how this book came out! It is crazy funky fun and happy all in one! I used the new My Little Shoebox papers to create this "tweet" book -- and I am offering it as a class at The Scrappin' Table!

“So Tweet” 6x12 Book

Create a happy-go-lucky 6x12 book using the Zutter Bind It All for all of your favorite family memories. We’ll be using My Little Shoebox’s newest paper lines, Jillibean Soup journal spots, and more! Snapshots of the inside:

Snapfish Delivered & Prima Goodies!

I took advantage of a couple of deals Snapfish offered a couple weeks ago -- 100 4x6 Prints for $12.99 and 75 4x6 Prints for $9.99. I used each code twice and this week my mailbox is overflowing with photos!!

I also have been shopping some since everyone has the new CHA goodies in and then some. I got some great Prima cardstock at Michael's -- it is two tone -- has a sheet of color and then a sheet of the same color in shimmer. I totally love it! It is like having two coordinating papers when they are just cardstock. I used my 50% off coupon on that.

Besides the cardstock, Michael's also has these really cute Prima butterflies and birds. A layout by Donna Salazar featuring the birds graces the cover of the Michael's idea sheet--pretty cool! I also received in the mail the stencils I ordered from Stencil1:

I saw them in a Scrapbooks Etc issue and HAD to have them. Lo and behold I saw them again at Blick Art Supplies in Pasadena today so now I know where to get them without paying shipping. They are really nice quality!

I used the stencils to ink a bird background onto the Prima cardstock. I was really inspired by the inking techniques we did at the Quickutz Club at Collective Journey so that got me inking with these new stencils.

Then I added photos and the birds. I've always loved the look of birds carrying banners in their beaks so I finally did that on this page! I cut the banner pennants from more of the Prima shimmer cardstock and then stitched them together with some string from Martha Stewart.

I cut the borders near the photos from Prima packaging--it is totally different colors from the packaging that the LSS gets. Vicki (Zutter DT member and fellow PrimaDonna) did this on a layout she posted last week and that reminded me to do it as well.

ALSO, this page is for this month's challenge at ScrapJacked!

On this next page I used more of the Prima cardstock and paper pieced a rocket from it. I used MM alphas I got on clearance from M's for the title, some buttons from my stash, and a piece of Heidi Swapp tape I have been trying to use up for 4+ years. Gotta use the stash to make room for new goodies, right?

I handcut some flames for the bottom of the rocket but then I stitched some more to fill in the blanks. I love the way this one turned out! The rocket has nothing to do with Matt being a "shutterbug" -- it is just inspired from the pattern on his pajamas in the photo.

And finally I made this page this evening with some goodies I picked up at The Scrappin' Table this afternoon. Anyways, here is my layout:

I had a lot of errands to run today so the family joined me and we drove all over So Cal. We met up with my friend PJ and her kids for lunch at McDonald's (and to deliver her Girl Scout cookie order - I am sooo behind on that!).

It is really challenging trying to stay on Weight Watchers when we are never home but we managed: the Bacon Ranch chicken salad is only 5 points and it was mighty yummy! It was also fun to spend some time with PJ since I missed her at QK Club the night before. Now I am off to do some more cleaning in my scrap room and work on some more class and DT samples.

Happy Creating!!

Birthday Fun!

We had a full weekend celebrating Matt's second birthday -- explains why no blogging happened ;) Here are some snapshots of the celebration (pulled from the almost 600 I took! yikes):

Matt chased down Pluto until he stopped to give him a hug and take a photo - it was hilarious! H was totally dragging Xaver behind him...

Now off to get more class samples ready. As soon as I am caught up I am behind again... I love being busy but sometimes I wonder why I schedule so much. Must be cuz I love it ;)

Happy Creating!
